Importing a Filter
 
  1. Click the Filters tab from anywhere in the management console.
    • Result: The Filter Manager page displays.

     
  2. Click the Import button inside the "Import Filters" box.
    • Result: The Import File page displays.

     
  3. Specify the location of the Filter file (must be in XML format).
    You can:
    • click the Browse... button to display the File Upload pop up and locate the Filter file you want to import (on your local computer or network)
    • enter the full path and file name of the XML Filter file you want to import (on your local computer or network).

    Note: Check "Import with Overwrite", to overwrite an existing Filter file automatically.
     
    • Result: DbProtect AppRadar imports your Filters. The following Filters will be imported:
       
      • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_AQADM_SYS
      • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_APPLY_USER_AGENT
      • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_UPGRADE_INTERNAL
      • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_CDC_IPUBLISH
      • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH
      • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_SNAP_INTERNAL

  4. Click the Policies tab from anywhere in the management console.
    • Result: The Policy Manager page displays.

     
  5. For each Policy that you want to add Filters to, click the Edit button next to the Policy you want to edit.
    • Result: The Policy Editor dialog box displays.

     
  6. Toggle the checkbox adjacent to each Filter that you want to include in your Policy. You will find the imported Filters located under: Oracle Database --> Audit Events --> Stored procedure executed.
    The Filters to turn on are:
     
    • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_AQADM_SYS
    • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_APPLY_USER_AGENT
    • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_UPGRADE_INTERNAL
    • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_CDC_IPUBLISH
    • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_CDC_PUBLISH
    • Critical Patch Update April 2007 - SYS.DBMS_SNAP_INTERNAL

  7. Click the Save button to overwrite the original Policy.
     
  8. Refresh the Policies page.
    • Result: Your Policy is listed. You can deploy it to an DbProtect AppRadar Sensor.

Deploying a Policy
 

  1. After creating or editing a Policy, you can deploy it to an DbProtect AppRadar Sensor in order for it to take effect.
     
  2. Click the Deploy... button next to the Policy you want to deploy to database(s) monitored by an DbProtect AppRadar Sensor.
     
  3. Two scroll-down boxes display: Database Applications Available and Deploy Policy To. These scroll-down boxes allow you to select database SIDs or instances where DbProtect AppRadar Sensors are configured and deployed, and deploy Policies to them.
    You can move values from the Database Applications Available scroll-down box to the Deploy Policy To scroll-down box, or vice-versa, by highlighting the value and clicking the "<<<" and ">>>" buttons.
     
    • Hint: Press <SHIFT> to highlight multiple consecutive values. Press <CTRL> to highlight multiple non-consecutive values.

     
  4. Click the Deploy button.
    • Result: DbProtect AppRadar deploys the Policy to the selected database instance.
