Application Security, Inc. Appoints John Ottman as President and Chief Executive Officer
Database Security Leader Selects Former IBM and Oracle Executive to Direct Next Phase of Growth and Innovation

for the enterprise, today announced the appointment of John Ottman as president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. As Application Security, Inc. extends its growth and leadership in the database security marketplace, Mr. Ottman brings strong global management and enterprise software industry experience. Succeeding former president and CEO Toby Weiss, Mr. Ottman will also serve as a member of the company's board of directors.

John Ottman brings over 25 years of industry experience to Application Security, Inc. including key senior management roles at Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) and IBM (NYSE: IBM), as well as at high growth startups Corio, Inc. and Princeton Softech, Inc. In his 10 years at Oracle, Mr. Ottman served in various field executive positions including Group Vice President, Industrial Sector. In 1999, he joined Corio, Inc. as executive vice president and led the company from the startup phase to ASP industry leadership, resulting in a successful IPO, and ultimately, the acquisition of Corio by IBM in 2004. Mr. Ottman then joined IBM to lead the integration effort of Corio as sales and marketing leader for IBM Applications on Demand. Later Mr. Ottman joined Princeton Softech, Inc., as President, Global Operations. Princeton Softech, Inc., a high growth company and leading provider of enterprise data management software, was acquired by IBM’s Data Management Group in 2007. Through the acquisition, Mr. Ottman returned to IBM to run worldwide sales for the new IBM Optim product line. He holds a B.A. from Denision University.
